Being Mommy- first time and second time

Last time Spock and What to expect when you are expecting were my constant companions . This time I did not read up on any of the pregnancy or baby gyaan related books, guides, websites. (Though I find that it is now time to revisit some at least to answer Anush's queries: When will baby sit, crawl, talk, walk, eat solids....)

The first time I was video recording right from the trip to the hospital
This time I just pulled out the video camera from the cupboard this morning.
At least I have been prompt with the still camera.

When Anush was a baby, I insisted that pin drop silence be maintained when the baby is asleep. This time I am an active part of the noise level, since the time the baby sleeps is spent playing with Anush

Last time I needed my mother 24 *7, even while propping the pillow for feeds at least the first few weeks. This time I feel like a pro more often than not

Last time I hated that visitors dropped in all the time. This time I am looking forward to them

Last time I was very wary of using diapers, for over a month. This time I have hardly used any cloth nappies.

I had no point of refrence since I belong to a nuclear family. This time, I am constantly thinking back as to how Anush was and what she did ...

Last time the first regurgitation elicited a panic visit to the doc and he actually wrote maternal anxiety as the diagnosis on his pad!! This time even the jaundice did not ruffle me much

But the wonder and beauty of a small little personality developing in front of me- priceless and still as mesmerising.

Even as I am in just the fourth month, I already think I am not going to panic like I did when I had Aditi (yes, Aditi is my first one :) ) I'd heed all advice and gyaan thrown my way and had cried for months that I was not able to produce all the milk my daughter required then. I guess I am not going to bother if I dont get the milk - I mean, I dont have to feel guilty. They all turn out fine afterall :)

I was just nodding my head all the way reading your post. And I am amazed that you could blog so regularly. God bless the moments of peace you get.
