First from a Cafe

This is the first time I am posting from an Internet cafe- at the Mumbai airport. Wow. I must be a great fan of blogging and an even bigger time manager.

In fact, I have almost an hour to kill before the flight to Chennai takes off. Hence this post. Spent some time at Crossword and bought a few books and a cd and some interesting neem pencils.

I wish there was a beauty parlour or a massage centre at the airports to get indulged on company time when there is no guilt of missing work or missing the call of maternal duty.

I do not recollect if I mentioned that I was in Blore last Thursday- ate at a cafe of a different kind- a place called Lalitha's ( a little beyond TGIF, behind a Shanti Sagar) . I hate eating alone in a public place. But hunger pangs got the better of me. Kept watching the umpteenth rerun of Hum hai rahi pyar ke on the TV there, to avoid any looks at me ( imagined or real). There was no other woman in the joint. But it was decent food and therefore worth it. Incredibly cheap too.

I had two parathas- one gobi and one aloo ( yes yes I was hungry- i told you). Any of my Blore bloggers who have eaten there?

Now you've gone and made me hungry!!

I love eating out ALONE! I actually try to go out alone once in a while. The first time my husband's mother (we were dating then) heard that I actually enjoy eating out alone was when she finally knew I was a whacko :D

why do you want to waste money going to beauty parlor or massages ?

You should put that suggestion in their 'suggestion box' for next time - what with so many tired passengers, waiting for connecting flights :-)

i've eaten at lalita's lots of times...it's really nice parathas! it's very popular with the college crowd in bangalore. since my husband is a paratha maniac, we both like going there. haven't been there since i got pregnant though, too far to travel but it's on my to-do list as soon as baby is born!

Eating alone is a guilty pleasure for a woman in a public place. Thanks to a job on the move, often had to do that and was made to feel so guilty by those serving me almost as if one was bringing their establishment into disrespect, and if you saw me I'm as staidly middleclass respectable as one can get...

Kkids- I understand that feeling especially in smaller eat outs

I used to be working in one of the offices behind, so Lalitas was a good choice as it only involved a short walk. But later the wait was longer than the walks to and fro, so inspite of the good food, used to compromise. Their parathas are YUMMY, aren't they?
