Onam Special

No- I am not referring to a train.

Here is how you can celebrate Onam & make it special. This is also a tribute to the Mallu half of my lineage/ heritage- not sure which is the apt word.

Onam marks the homecoming of King Mahabali. It is the day when a grateful Kerala pays a glorious tribute to the memory of this benign king who gave his all for his subjects - I think it is reason for all of us to consider what was the last selfless thing we did- not necc Mother Teresa types- can be just some small thing we did.

Malayalam movies are often entertaining albeit a little depressing at times & I do think Mamoothy is a mighty handsome fellow. As of now, eight films have announced that they will get released for Onam. They showcase every star in the box office during the season. 'Bhargava charitram Moonam Ghandam’ is a mass masala thriller with Mammootty ( as a goon) , Sreenivasan and Padmapriya in the lead roles.
