Could not find the peacock feathers I have had for a long time , possibly kept too safe while shifting from Chennai. Anyway Aditi was more keen to break the pearls and tear apart the krishna rag doll in her hand.
Taught Anush this Mohana ragam swarajati and relived old memories of my wonderful music teacher in Vijayawada. Sang a couple of lullabies for a radio station but am unsure if it will be aired and also when.
Krishna is not my fave God but I love the manner of celebration of this festival and the songs associated with Gopala.
Which is your favourite Krishna song? I like Krishna nee beganay and the above mentioned one.
So happy Janmashtami , Gokulashtami, Srikrishna Jayanti, Sree Jayanthi or whatever name you call it by!

Nahin. This one is a Telugu rather unknown swarajati relatively - Ra ra venu is the first one most of us are taught...as per the net-
" Kocherlakota Ramaraju (1878-1950) from Thaatipaka, a small village in the East Godavari district has authored 'Srirama Keerthana Karnamrutham' and has composed
varnas, kritis and swarajatis. His three compositions are Daya radu naapai in Todi, Dayachudamani koridi in Bilahari and Balakrishna mohana (Swarajati) in Mohana
are well known"
Thanks Art !! That was informative.... had never heard Mohana Swarajati ... would love to learn it.
Hopefully I can find the swaras.
The little Krisha looks absolutely adorable!!! "Alaipayudhe" and "thaaye yashodha" are my personal favorites.
I know that mohana swarajitae. That used to be my "asthana paatu", as in I would sing it everywhere I was asked to sing :)
