A Five star Affair

Anush turns five today.

From talking to talking non stop
From laughing at our jokes to cracking her own
From fawning over big sisters to being a BIG sister herself
From being charming in Chennai to being bubbly in Bangalore
Anushka has had an eventful year.

Here is how we celebrated it this time in Bangalore....
She was dressed in a glittery/ sequined denim and white outfit with silver sequin shoes!! Am glad she did not insist on the princess dress...

Food included home made pasta salad, sweet potato chaat, dry fruit chikki and from the shop- the usual baked white clouds and onion ring fryums. Chocolates had to be 5- Star ! The kite cake was from Monika's Kitchen.

The theme was Magical starry shimmer with a dash of kites. My father created a disco with colourful rotating lights in her room and we had a dance / prance floor. Even the fan had silver balls on it. We made a couple of kites as well. Had created a ppt with assorted pics of anush and captions to the tune Freedom by K'Naan. I am no sure how many got to see it though...

There was dance and balloon fun as always and a magic show by a talented youngster Karun. He made Anush and some of her friends feel like a star calling her over for some of the tricks.

Really missed the Chennai blogger set - especially Itchy and Lavs. But Bangalore bloggers- Monika ( cake aunty) , JLT( driver aunty), Sandhya ( ST), Abha, R, S, were there to wish my little girl. And of course, my SILs, my best friends from MICA were all there with family as were my really nice neighbours.

The gifts were really wonderful and not a single repeat- enough to provide food for mind, body and soul. Thank you all you thoughtful people out there!

A truly magical evening!

Today she will distribute dry fruits in school and the annual donation to Udhavum Karangal continues

And Anushka is already planning her 6th birthday now...

My dear Anushka,

This was not the easiest year for us as mom and daughter- but we have made it and are closer than ever, if that is possible.

I want you to always remain cheerful and curious. And continue to come to me when something worries you. I cannot make everything alright but I will surely try.

I wish you grow more confident and try new things without me ( you have made a reluctant but self initiated start with Abacus).

I hope you and Aditi cherish each other always. We love you and are very proud and glad to be your parents.
