Lakdi ki

This prized pony is falling apart. A couple of eleven year olds who visited us sat on it!!

I get mad when adults sit in the swing in the play park meant for kids. They could possibly do it if the swing is sturdy enough and also ONLY if there is no kid waiting to use it.

I usually give them a piece of my mind...

Kids naturally get attracted to colourful toys I guess. I'm also at my wit's end when I see older kids use Narad's toys, I usually ask them to stop using, or if there is something that I particularly want to preserve, I try to put it away. The second choice has not worked so well since i then forget all about the said toy and even Narad don't get to play with it at all!

I get annoyed too when I see big lugs of kids and adults sitting on kids swings while mine look woebegone at not getting a turn. But then I think that often kids don't have access to playgrounds, there aren't enough of them...and they grow into adults who just want to recapture that childhood moment they didn't have. :(

But yes, I keep away the toys I don't want broken when kids who are known to be rough visit. if my kids are careful, they shouldn't have to suffer others' carelessness!

Oh Boy ! Aren't I glad I didn't give in to the child in me and jump onto the rocking pony when I met him in Chennai. He wouldn't have made it to Bangalore at all.

Even worse than adults using the swing is that area being used as a smoking adda in the night and finding cig stubs littered the next evening. That really gets my goat.

i usually allow all to play with stuff... lesson learnt

In an open play park yes adults can do but not at the cost of the equipment and definitely not when a kid who is entitled to do it is waiting....

oh minka I so agree about the cigg stubs

I let the bigger kids sit use Appu's toys much to her ire. Err.. I usually cannot resist the temptation to use a swing whenever I see one though I make sure it can hold my girth well and cause no damage and enver wehn other kids are waiting.

OMG..I sure must be tired! Guess the constant power cuts in Sharjah is affecting me badly....how else can I justify those numerous spelling goof ups in my comment!

the damage is not visible but we will need to bolster the curve near the legs since it has developed a crack

I've seen rocking horses at these places where they sell woodwork curios. Currently at Forum mall and outside Total mall on Sarjapur rd.
And you have been tagged.

i always check if the swing is strong. and that there are no kids waiting. and that there is no maali who will come blowing his whistle and embarrassing the hell outta me! but i have finally learnt to resist my swinging temptation!

but yeah, i am still trying figure out older kids' fascination with baby toys! i had kept Cub's rocking horse in the hall during party and thankfully all kids were below 8! so its still in one piece! :D

cheers!
