Guntur Paatalu Vinipistha

Tulika's blogathon calls and since most Tamil ones are covered and I do not know too many in Hindi or Marathi I decided to call in this one from my Guntur days

In Telugu-
Chukku Chukku raillu osthundhee
Dooram Dooram Jaragandee
Jo Jo Paapa yaydatthu
Laddo mittai thinipistha
Challanee kapi thaagistha

Translated-
Chuk Chuk comes the train
Please move aside
Sleepy baby don't cry
I will get you laddoos and sweets/ candy
I shall let you drink cool coffee!!

What a coincidence. I played this on youtube yesterday for Narad and they absolutely loved it! Na asked me for the meaning and I told her and she was most intrigued with the coffee part since I don't give coffee to them :)

I grew up singing this:

Chukku Chukku raillu osthundhee
Dooram Dooram Jaragandee
aaginaaka ekkandi (climb on board after it stops)
Jo Jo Paapa yaydatthu
Laddo mittai thinipistha
Challanee kapi thaagistha
another variation:
Kammani(delicious)/challani paalu(milk) thaagistha
