Bomb-Bay

The Mumbai Carnage is really disturbing.

Some time ago I saw a tribute to the Taj with a voice over by Roshan Seth( ?) and more recently the inside story of the Taj and how it faces up to the daily challenges on Discovery Travel and Living. Certainly this challenge was not one of them.

My friends in college and I used to visit the Taj loo, Cheemos in Oberoi, Leopold's ( preferred Cafe Mondegar though). It was synonymous with fun times. There must have been others like us seated there.

Since last night, I feel the hyper active coverage by the media makes it easy for the terrorists to gather the police's/ security's strategy.

What must have gone on in the minds of the policemen who entered first not knowing where or what to look for?
How easy would it be for a terrorist to escape by mingling with the hostages?
What would have gone on in the last few minutes in the minds of those who are no more
And what about those who will live on post this nightmare?
And those who thought they would die and did something that embarrasses them now, since they are going to live on?

How insignificant everything is before Death. Yet live we must - and make each of those "insignificant" moments count.

And so life goes on. . .

Art, you echo my exact sentiments. Am too numb to even think about it. Isn't it pitiable that terrorism and their hold on common people is so severe and blatant! Yet, what 'action' will they take? What's the use now after hundred have been killed or scarred for life? How easy it has become for the militants to gain control over places. I shudder to think what might happen next. Who are these people and what is it they want? What do they prove by killing people who have in no way affected their lives? People, who as you say, probably came to just have coffee and pooh! they are no more. What is happening? Where are we all going? My heart aches. It really aches. I have shut myself off from TV. I dont want to see 'live' pictures of people crying and buildings burning!

Pretty distressing really. What makes Mumbai an attractive and easy target for this desperadoes ? Why should this city be targeted again and again ? When will this madness end ?

@Krishnan- why sud ANY city be targeted?

I saw that series on the Taj hotel too, and now I keep wondering how many of those brisk and smiling people made it out of there alive..

This terrible day has hurt us all, even the ones far away from the scene.

These muslim terrorists are absolutely mindless and subhuman rats. why does media is afraid os usinfg the M word at all? The muslims are about to get all of hindus, christians and jews. The only way to stop this carnage that started in 7th century is to wipe them out. Any other solutions? Please discuss the solutions here. Leeches and rats. I wonder how theylive on. Jai Hind and God bless.
