Law on laundry

There should be a law that bans clothes being dried on balconies...
Why can't some safe and roofed place be provided for each flat on the terrace or the basement for this?

Have you noticed how in Chennai and Mumbai gorgeous buildings look awful with the line of clothes drying in the balcony....Roofed because it might rain and if the couple is working then the clothes cannot be gathered fast, Safe because you do not wish to be rendered clothe- less

But sometimes ( very rarely) laundry hung out looks attractive as well- in photos.

till such arrangement is made, the great indian balcony will keep thriving!

its just sheer convenience and lack of any other option i guess!

cheers!

I don't mind clothes hanging in the balcony - what gets my goat is clothes ( I mean all kinds ) clipped on the balcony grills. Now that's an eyesore.

There's always a bright white veshti hanging off the balcony over my parking lot. Everyday I reverse my car coating said garment with dust. You would think they would stop. But nah !

i found laundry rods when i was visiting singapore. almost every apartment uses these. they stick out of the window for a good 10 feet. forget using them for a saree or a dhoti or any apparel for the indian build though :p

Out of curiosity, are clothes dryers an option?

teh washing machien penetartion in Idnia would prob be about 10%

we have too many colours that run and so on as well

washing machines come attached with driers which do a 90% job

so the remaining 10% involves sun drying

i think teh kind of individual driers u have abroad are very different....
