The third person in my bed

I have a pati, patni aur woh situation. The significant third is, you guessed right, my little devil- Anush. Soon after I returned home post delivery, every night, we put her in between us since the pediatrician told us that it increased bonding. My friends abroad thought it so cool since they needed to keep their baby in a separate room of his own.

When she was little( littler) she would sleep straight and it was ok. Now she occupies a pretty good part of a queen sized bed, keeps changing poses like a supermodel at a photo shoot and I, being horizontally challenged, have it tough. Navy manages a larger portion of the bed as always for some magical reason. Anyway, now we cannot not imagine it any other way.

But how do you tell a baby- " Ok we are in a mood- can you sleep now and quickly" Or even this would do - " Ok now that you are asleep let me build up a mood(!) and yes- pl don't wake up too soon"

Seems like it is a good bye to all those spontaneous bursts of "energy"

P.S. I think I should delete this before Anush learns to read.

ha ha ha....aptly described...
u hav no choice. the man on ur bed wud be too heavy to shove and make way.. while u wudn't want to shift the tiny (or not so tiny), adorable package on your bed for fear of waking her up...

My both kids sleep with us. My son on the bed with us & daughter in the crib which we use as a co-sleeper,joined to our bed. Half of the night I can feel my son legs on my nack & head & the half of the night my daughter try to sleep on my cheeks:-)

And What do mean by spontaneous burst of energy? We had 2 kids and now we don't know any such thing existing in our lives:-P

HHgma- I have beem meaning to put her on her own bed but just cant bear to- u see I am working and feel i owe her at least the remainder of the time- I think I often end up spoiling her

all the rest- LOL with all of u but sometimes - rarely I do end up feeling like a frustrated deprived soul- u know what I mean?

make it quick sweetie - Anoush's transition to her lil crib - else you might end up like this mom - who's 15 month old "can't" sleep until he has snuggled in with his Ma.....must say romance has quickly flown out of the window.
No wonder when the doc suggested I use contraceptives post baby - I told him "I have one at home - he's called my son"

dunno about your kid, but mine changes position every hour or so. you can equate his motion to that of the clock's hour hand! he is back to his "vertical position" by morning, i.e., the position he went to bed in!

lol - i know exactly what you mean. for those who think having two kids is like having one kid plus one kid, think again - the family is multiplying, not adding!
