Hello there!

Republic day saw us visit one of Anush's prospective schools. She loved it so much she wanted to go there starting the next day itself. I was wowed by the kids there-  composed, helpful and self sufficient. Very dignified confidence! The layout is also really charming. But it is really far from our current home.

Then we went to Nandi Hills and had  lots of fun only because of the company we had.

It is a nice picnic spot and has a temple and Tipu's lodge, a step well, lots of trees and so on. But it was crowded and not a true hill station in terms of the weather. The facilities are minimal and better take a picnic basket along.

Was away in Chennai yesterday. Enjoyed Murugan Idli at their best branch in T Nagar.

So how are the monkeys at Nandi Hills doing? Once in their innocent bachelor times, hubby and a friend had gone there by bike, carrying a packet of painstakingly made alu-parathas for lunch. No prizes for guessing who enjoyed them! The two men (boys?) were left empty-handed. So when we went there as a family, we were super-careful of them!

Good that Anush is looking forward to switching schools..Many kids find it hard to adjust, don't they? I am very apprehensive about how my son will take to the new school once we are at Blore next academic year ! Wish me luck :)

Love the header pic, also the ones on the sidebar :)
Wish there were a decent place to eat at Nandi Hills, wonder why there isn't any. I went during Ganesh Chathurthi almost a decade ago and weather-wise it was almost like a hill-station was my observation (but then I was still a 'Madrasi' in those days) - misty, quite chill. Must've been really sunny in Jan.
Good luck with the school hunt!
