Did it!

We always celebrate all festivals with joy, the fun rituals and the eats.

This time we went a step ahead for Navrathri and set up our Golu - a very small basic beginning with 3 steps.

Anushka's delight was infectious and she said prayers and sang all the bhakti songs she knew. Aditi as of now seems to understand that she is not to mess up things. We shall see how long before she figures out what she is missing!!

I plan to learn how to do each step, the significance and so on as we go along. There are some cool sites on these matters. And of course my mom.

Off to Chennai yet again this week. Happy Navarathri! Kolattam- Dandiya here we come...

Instead of saree, use a pure while material. Also should be ider, you can use a carpenter and get 7 padis done.

sharmila-
thanks- will keep in mind for next year when my kids are older and i have more time on hand

these steps do not accomodate all the stuff i have

certainly can't do the floor level jungle/ pond themes since my second one is still crawling....

Golu looks very nice, and the other little doll looks very cute :)

This is my fifth year of golu and Na was so eager to see how the golu turned out. She kept appreciating the golu, so it is a success!
