Bag full of tricks etc

On Sunday, Anush reluctantly let Navy and me go to a play. I kept it honest with her- She had to be 21 yrs old to come along... so she tried counting how long it would take her to get there!!

The said play was completely worth it. Rajat Kapoor's Hamlet adaptation - fantastic adaptation, often tongue in cheek, wonderful cast, brilliant performance, short and crisp. Totally deserving of the standing ovation that it got.

But the Museum Theatre - though it has a lot of character and old world charm, it had a mouse frolicking on the wiring near the stage, there was a musty smell all around, the loos belong to the 19th century and worst of all the sound does not carry well enough. One had to strain to catch all the dialogue- so what if it was a mix of English and Gibberish.
****

I am not in the habit of carrying spare clothes for Anush on outings - for a couple of years now.
On Saturday we had met up for dinner at a friend's house and were generally having a good time. Post dinner, I inadvertantly wet Anush's dress at the sink (did not realise that the water would gush out so forcefully). What followed after, left me feeling that I should carry a spare no matter how remote the possibility of ever having to use it. Anyway with the second one's arrival I will anyway be lugging around a bag with all sorts of stuff soon. An extra frock will not add any more weight or hassle.

Rajat Kapoor is phenomenal. I saw a play here in Ranga Shankara with him, Konkona, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, and almost died of delight!

And a coupla recent accidents with Dhruv AND Divya had me concluding the same thing...one set of clothes always to be kept in the car for both even tho' they're 3 and 7!!

Adya invariably dirties herself when I'm unprepared...so I always carry one.

That's the one performed by a clown company, right? I saw that too! Very funny...

And I have a spare set of the brat's clothes in my handbag all the time - it even comes to office with me. It hasn't been needed for ever but taking it out would mean admitting that my boy has grown up, right? Not yet :)
