The little errand girl- part 2

As an only child, in a nuclear set up, I was encouraged to help around at home

The joy of washing the home Hawaii chappals and see them turn white ( those days they were usually white with a blue strap) .... The fetching odds and ends from the grocers at the street corner....Serving guests water....All made me feel so important and involved.

Anush started very young - like most kids- as some of the older followers of this blog will recollect. But she continues to this day, unlike some kids I know. It is now also enhanced by the manner in which her school focuses on life skills.

Anushka peels some veggies with a peeler, strings peas/ beans pretty well, chops the softer veggies.
She cleans up her room- toys and books- when in a mood, folds clothes better than I do , waters plants carefully, can sweep and mop and wash vessels- to the extent that i may be sued for using child labour
When we met Usha, was the first time I tried to let her pay money for her corn and collect the change - though she began timidly she is more vocal now.
Here is what she learnt to do over the weekend. . giving her cycle a bath.

A 'Hi' from a first time commenter. :) Very impressed with your daughter. Honest question: How did you inculcate this helpfulness? :)
