You fill up my senses

Those of you who have seen Ally Mc Beal would know this. A specific song/ tune repeats in your head when you are in a certain mood.

It gives a feeling of deja vu. More often than not, you will find a few others pick up the vibes and the song.

Nowadays the mood is also set by a song one listens on radio on the way to work.

There are some songs which take hours to get out of your system. The biggest one is "Five Star "refrain in Tamil. In Hindi it is "Excuse me too please" now a days

They are not particularly songs I like, infact they manage to irritate after a while. But they are just like a sticker on your back- difficult to get rid of.

As elaborated interestingly by analogkid:
They are called earworms. i have a few earworm repellants. have to listen to them for atleast 10 mins normally to kill the worms. its a common phenomenon. dream theater's surrounded and any song by tool are my favorite earworm repellents.others picking up vibes part.. i have tried hard to deconstruct it. i came to the conclusion that u either hum it unknowingly which is heard by the other person unconsciously and thus the vibe.. or if u believe in something more supernatural, then maybe its the subconscious minds communicating. :)

I know that song of Ally Mc Beal,it's a lovely song,I remember it specifically because it got stuck in my head so much that I searched the whole net to get that song:)
I agree there are some songs which gets so repeated and get stuck in the head.I would hate that song but it would refuse to go away.Wish there was a mental cleanser or sorts to cleanse those which get stuck:)

analog- i am going to add your comment in part to the post

rest all- i take comfort that i am not alone in this

also have u encountered this itch to figure out something u know but have momentarily forgotten- usually something inane- a song or a movie name- many a long disance call has been wasted by me in such quests

we catch/hum it because we like it and then we hate it because it stayed around for too long. :)

@art - ur welcome.. :) .. oh the itch to find out something thats peeping in memory is another irritating thing that bugs me too.. probably we share the same obsessive compulsive disorders.. :) for me its mainly with movies and with terms that i have heard somewhere but cant place them anywhere.. i seem to have helped the disorder grow more by having my notebook on all the time by my side connected to the internet :)

i used to love the "you fill up my senses" song...till Overdose happened. A senior in my PG course would play it day AND night in his room at the loudest volume ever. so it killed the song for all of us living nearby :(
