Years ago, if I came across any difficult word I would ask my father " Appa- what does it mean?" He would say" Why don't you look up the dictionary? "
I would think why doesn't he just tell me- it would be so easy for him to do so and would have made my life that much simpler.
Appa, I cannot look for answers to my questions in the dictionary any more. ( except while reading some blogs maybe)
But thanks for teaching me that answers are not meant to be found easily. One has to make some effort and may even find some new meanings in the process.

don't sweat it honey... even i spent a childhood traumatised by people telling me to look up words in the dictionary!!!!
as they say.. teach a man to fish rather than give a man a fish.
your dad was right - be happy he instilled that good habit in you
As i summed up- I am really grateful to my Dad teaching me to fight my own battles.....
your dad was right.we need to check out things for ourselves.Did you find an answer going thro' my blog.
Kudos on finally starting your own blog. its something I have been meaning to do for ages...and have been putting off for the same reasons as you. But good stuff. I wonder how this super-woman finds time for a job, a hubby, a baby, running a home and now even writing her own blog??
You go girl!!!!
Good luck with the blog - just dropped in !
yeah....may be that's why my dad also asks me to look up for a word in the dictionary.....hmmm...:-)
