My little Star

In case you have not yet guessed, Anush is the star of this blog. Today she was the star of her class as well. It is her nakshatra birthday and like last year, we decided to 'celebrate' it at her school ( since her English birthday falls on a weekend)

Anushka wore a pretty paavadai chattai ( kanta work- courtesy her paati)
She carried individual packs of assorted dry fruits for her friends. While she was helping me assemble these packs at home, I realised that all that bead and grain pouring kind of stuff from school is definitely useful. And I found that she could count ( at least till fifty) easily.

Anush baby, may your life be full of good cheer and sparkle, just as you fill ours with your own special brand of shine.

Distributing dry fruits is a really innovative and healthy alternative to sweets..

  3. happy birthday 1 anush!

    LOL @ pouring work!
the other thing is that thanks to the golden beads concept, they actually count (vs. just chant correctly).

  5. All
Guess we cant do dry fruits had it been the US of A - what with so many nut allergies around!!

Anywya the school disallows candies and chocolates- hence almost everyone opts for stuff like museli bars/ fruits

this we thought may be more interesting since anush fancies dry fruits a lot - so we put in figs, cashews, almonds, raisins and a small bit of sugar crysatls (kalkand)

chox - u shld give gyaan to moms of kids in the montessori system- i am amazed at how much u know about it
