Presenting Aditi. . .

Artnavy combines formally named their second release yesterday. Names such as Arushi, Akansha and Ankita lost out, as did Abhinav or Arnav for other reasons.

The function is an eleventh day ceremony, marked by a special oil bath and a puja. We also clubbed the oonjal ( cradle) function on the same day since my ILs were present. The lovely blanket presented by a blog reader H from Australia who paid us a visit a day before the delivery, came in useful in the cradle makeover we gave Anush’s old cradle.

For the function, this time we had a lot more attendees with one significant missing person- my father- who will join us by the weekend. The catering was fabulous ( finally in Chennai) and recco by another blogger, Adya’s mom.

Some Anushisms before I get down to the detailed birth story in a couple of days.

Amma ! Will you take care of baby when I go to school?

Can I hold baby now- I think she will feel sad otherwise

To all who have not yet visited us, including very close relatives who indulge her with surprise…
I have a baby now. A surprise. It is just like me, please come and see.

To me, whenever the baby as much as whimpers…
Amma you should feed the baby….I think it is hungry or
You should change the diaper- I think she has done potty

To her paati
You must be very gentle with the baby okay- otherwise it will get hurt

Ask her what the baby does, she promptly says-
Susu, potty, ‘cycling’, cry, sleep and it loves us
I feel blessed. Kala tikka moments.
